Kitchen and Dining

The Kitchen

There has always been a kitchen in this huge, wooden beamed room which incorporates the original wood-fired oven, now no longer used and an old stone sink.   For ease and convenience, a fitted kitchen has been installed in the far part of the room with a modern sink, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge \ freezer, oven and hob. Large wooden cupboards along the perimeter walls house crockery and glasses.  In the centre of the room, a wooden table seats from 8 - 10 people. There is also a large table outside the kitchen, on the gallery, for eating al fresco.

The Dining Room

Reached by either the kitchen or the gallery.  The Dining Room is a formal room with a centre piece of an antique Spanish mahogany dining table and twelve Spanish parcel-gilt grey \ green painted dining chairs.  A portrait of the second Lord Gardner, (Mary's great great grandfather) by Sir Thomas Lawrence, copied by Robert Swan is above the fireplace whilst at the far side of the room an eighteenth century giltwood pelmet supports dark red damask silk curtains.

The Pavilion

The pool area also contains a Pool Pavilion which is ideal for enjoying light lunches or barbecue suppers. The Pavilion has comfortable seating and a table, a fridge, dishwasher and picnic ware for up to eight people.
